Game finance (GameFi) is a blockchain-based gaming model. GameFi typically employs a play-to-earn (P2E) model that allows users to be rewarded in cryptocurrencies or non-fungible tokens (NFTs) for completing in-game tasks, engaging with other players, or progressing through various game levels. In contrast to traditional video games, most blockchain games allow users to own their in-game assets and transfer their tokenized rewards out of the virtual world they initially earned them in. This can allow gamers to buy, sell, and trade their items on crypto exchanges or NFT marketplaces.
