What is Hydra (Cardano)?

A Layer-2 solution for Cardano being developed by Input-Output Global (IOG), Hydra is designed to further enhance throughput, diminish latency, and incur little-to-no costs — while still preventing Denial-of-Service (DoS) attacks. Hydra will accomplish this by processing transactions off-chain while still being tangentially coupled to the main Cardano ledger for transaction settlement. Hydra is scheduled for a late 2022 release date.
