What is Index Fund?

An index fund is a pool of different assets in various ratios or balances. In traditional finance, an index fund is managed by a portfolio manager who manually makes trades to bring the fund back to its intended balance. In the decentralized finance (DeFi) version of an index fund, the fund typically rebalances automatically when trades occur.
