What is Information Technology (IT)?

Information technology (IT) refers to the use of technology to solve business or organizational problems. IT can also be considered the use of computers, computer networking infrastructure, data storage, cloud computing, software, hardware, and numerous other types of technology to provide services and solve problems for customers. IT intersects with most industries and is used to solve many complex technological challenges by increasing transparency, improving efficiency, enhancing security and privacy, and by giving customers a better user experience (UX).
