What is Platform?

A blockchain platform usually refers to any type of distributed blockchain network that can be used to develop, create, and run applications or other related technology on top of it. "Platform" is one of many terms that can also be used to refer to a blockchain network protocol in its own right, but often the term refers to a network's capability of hosting other network services that are built and constructed to run as an extension of the network itself.
