What is Privacy Coin?

A privacy coin is a cryptocurrency that is mainly designed to help preserve the privacy of its users and its underlying network protocol — usually by concealing identity and transaction data during the exchange of crypto assets. Typically, blockchain networks that are focused on privacy make use of Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKPs) or zk-SNARKs — cryptographic proofs used for concealing information in a cryptographically verifiable fashion that is essentially immutable and tamper-proof.
