What is Secret-Sharing?

Secret-sharing is a cryptographic technique employed in computing that is used to share highly-sensitive data in a way that cannot be compromised. Secret-sharing works by sending separate chunks (shares) of sensitive data (or secrets) to multiple parties, with the sensitive data only being deciphered when all separate parties who received a portion are united. Secret-sharing is one of numerous privacy-preserving techniques used in blockchain and other forms of computing.
