Preceded by Series A funding, Series B funding is typically used by established companies with a valuation in excess of $30 million USD. This capital tends to be used by a company to expand, cover costs, or enter new markets. The Series B stage usually provides the company with additional funds in excess of $10 million, which may be provided by venture capital and private equity firms in exchange for preferred shares.
