What is Startup?

A startup is a recently launched company that is in the early stages of its development lifecycle. A startup is generally an entrepreneurial pursuit founded using capital supplied by the founding team itself and perhaps immediate friends or family. Startups must work hard to develop a strong business model (often with a prototype), with hopes of securing additional investment from high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs), venture capitalists (VCs), and other means of funding.
