What is Stellar (XLM)?

Stellar is an open-source, decentralized payment protocol that enables seamless, cross-border transactions between all forms of currency. The project's native coin, stellar lumens (XLM), is used to pay the network's transaction fees, prevent network spam, and provide liquidity via the Stellar Distributed Exchange (SDEX).
