What is Token Generation Event (TGE)?

A Token Generation Event (TGE) is a process whereby a new blockchain project and its founding team facilitate the technical generation and launch to market of the project's native token/coin. TGEs can take place in numerous ways, including via a traditional Initial Coin Offering (ICO), private sale, public sale, or through a combination of different methods. A TGE is designed to gain publicity and engagement from prospective investors, with the end goal of fundraising to help finance the development of the project.
