What is Hashes per Second (H/S)?

Hashes per second (h/s) is a measurement used to determine the hash rate on a blockchain network that uses Proof of Work (PoW). This measurement calculates the number of hash computations performed on a blockchain network every second. The number of hashes per second is also used to compare the mining performance of various crypto mining rigs that are used for cryptocurrency mining.
