On January 5, an unknown user transferred 26.91 BTC (the equivalent of almost $1.2 million at current exchange rates) to the wallet of Satoshi Nakamoto, the mysterious creator of bitcoin.
According to The Block, the sender's address received funds from three different sources. Most of the funds came from a wallet identified on the #Arkham Intelligence platform as being linked to #Binance.
At this point, the original wallet still holds 99.67 BTC, worth about $4.4 million dollars. These assets have remained untouched since the bitcoin creator disappeared in December 2010.

Additionally, it is worth noting that this event can be seen as an unconventional marketing tactic, potentially related to the pending approval of a spot #bitcoin-ETF.
Since #Nakamoto's disappearance in December 2010, there have been no movements of funds to or from wallets associated with him, including the Genesis wallet. It is possible Nakamoto still possesses the private keys for these wallets and may be able to control the funds.
The Genesis wallet originally contained 50 BTC. In honor of the 14th anniversary of the first cryptocurrency, users from around the world decided to celebrate in their own way and sent #BTC to an address containing rewards for #mining a Genesis blockchain. Thanks to these gifts, the wallet balance has grown to 72 BTC by the end of 2023. A recent transaction increased the current balance to 99.67 BTC, which roughly equals $4.3 million.
