US presidential candidate Donald Trump recognized the growing popularity of bitcoin and supported the idea of oversight of this digital asset.
In an interview with Fox News before the primaries in South Carolina, Trump touched on bitcoin amid his criticism of central bank digital currencies (#CBDC).
Drawing parallels to China's active stance on a similar payment system, the host asked Trump if the adoption of bitcoin was in line with his vision.

Trump replied:
"I have always favored the dollar as the only currency. Bitcoin has evolved independently, gaining momentum. Despite the need for regulation, its growing appeal is clear. The trend of bitcoin payments is intriguing, and I can appreciate that. Nevertheless, I remain committed to the dollar."
Despite his previous condemnation of cryptocurrencies, particularly bitcoin, Trump has changed his stance. Not only has he ventured into crypto-investing, but he has also unveiled a series of unique #NFT collections.
