Pavel Durov, the creator of the Telegram messaging platform, shared his thoughts on the introduction of the Notcoin (NOT) cryptocurrency. He emphasized that the initiative has attracted more than 35 million active users in a short period of time and called it a "remarkable success story."
"Notcoin instantly entered the top 10 cryptocurrencies in terms of trading volume, and its market capitalization reached almost $700 million. Imagine - hundreds of millions of dollars of value were created for Telegram users in this mini-app out of nowhere in a matter of months," Pavel Durov noted.
In addition, the Telegram founder emphasized how strong the Telegram and The Open Network (#TON) ecosystem is for software developers. Durov noted the growing number of applications that utilize the messenger and the TON blockchain.
Shortly after Durov's announcement, the Notcoin team announced that it had awarded the Telegram founder more than 1 billion NOT tokens, which is equivalent to about $6.8 million.
It is worth noting that on May 16, 2024, major cryptocurrency exchanges such as #Binance, #OKX, #Bybit, #Kucoin, #Gate, #Bitget and #Bitfinex listed the Notcoin token (NOT). Subsequently, Binance users expressed concern about missing assets that had been pre-transferred from the Telegram app to their platform addresses.
