Microsoft and Amazon have committed $5.6 billion to France during the annual Opt for France summit.
Microsoft plans to allocate $4.3 billion to develop its cloud and artificial intelligence infrastructure. The tech giant will expand its existing data centers in Paris and Marseille and build a new one in Mulhouse.

The corporation will also focus on AI education and support for France's technology sector.
According to Microsoft's announcement, the company will invest in 25,000 of the latest graphics processors by 2025. In addition, the company will sponsor the training of 1 million people and support 2,500 AI startups by 2027.
"This significant investment demonstrates a strong commitment to advancing digital innovation and economic progress in France," said Microsoft President Brad Smith.
Amazon has pledged to invest 1.3 billion dollars to develop its operations in the country. The company intends to create more than 3,000 jobs in France, as well as expand its supply chain and cloud infrastructure in Paris to support the development of general artificial intelligence (AGI).
Combined with Microsoft and #Amazon's financial commitments, France has raised $16.17 billion from international businesses. This is a historic amount since the first summit in 2018.
According to President Emmanuel Macron, the investment covers 56 separate commercial initiatives and could lead to the creation of 10,000 jobs.
Earlier, #Microsoft invested $1.5 billion in G42, an artificial intelligence company in the United Arab Emirates.
