OpenAI Studio co-founder Ilya Sutskever, alongside his associates, has established a fresh AI venture named Safe Superintelligence (SSI). As per the announcement, the primary objective is to develop Safe Superintelligence (ASI).
The initiators of this initiative include Ilya Sutskever, another former member of OpenAI, Daniel Levy, and Daniel Gross, a collaborator at the Y Combinator incubator.
"SSI embodies our mission, identity, and complete product strategy as it represents our exclusive concentration. Our crew, backers, and business approach are entirely dedicated to this domain,"the statement emphasized.
Superintelligence is within reach.

Building safe superintelligence (SSI) is the most important technical problem of our time.
We've started the world’s first straight-shot SSI lab, with one goal and one product: a safe superintelligence.
It’s called Safe Superintelligence…
The announcement further reveals that the selected business strategy enables the startup to insulate itself from "business demands." The organization will not be steered by "administrative burdens and product lifecycles," the statement highlighted.
SSI is legally registered in the United States and maintains establishments in Palo Alto and Tel Aviv. Concurrent with the declaration, the startup's leadership team unveiled a recruitment campaign.
Notably, Sutskever and Jan Leike, another former member of OpenAI, were involved in the Superalignment coalition. This coalition was established to ensure secure advancements in artificial intelligence.
Sutskever endorsed Sam Altman's departure in November 2023. Subsequently, Altman declared his return as CEO. In March 2024, Altman resumed his position on the board of directors.
Following these events, both Sutskever and Leike departed from #OpenAI. The latter assumed the role of leading the AI governance unit at #Anthropic Labs.
