The Supreme Court of Montenegro has ordered the expulsion of former CEO of Terraform Labs Do Kwon to the United States, rejecting a similar request from South Korea. This was reported by local media.
The decision to extradite Kwon was reportedly based on a ruling by the Court of Appeals, which instructed the Supreme Court to determine the accused's destination - #South Korea or the #US.
Goran Rodic, Kwon's legal representative, previously told local media that his client's extradition to South Korea was legally justified.
In response, Justice Minister Andrej Milovic characterized #Kwon's extradition as a political choice, emphasizing the importance of the U.S. as a key foreign policy ally.
Milovic expressed his intention to conclude a bilateral extradition agreement as soon as possible to lay the groundwork for future such decisions.
It is worth noting that on February 7, 2024, the #Montenegro Court of Appeals granted DoKwon's appeal, marking an important development in this trial.
