Binance CEO Richard Teng said the company is in talks with various regions to establish a central office.
According to The Block, Teng emphasized the complexity of corporate governance at a Paris Blockchain Week panel. He noted that it is currently in talks with jurisdictions willing to facilitate the establishment of a headquarters.
Recognizing the multifaceted process of establishing a headquarters, Teng stressed the importance of aligning legal regulations with Binance's product offerings.
Additionally, he emphasized the importance of #tax law in the decision-making process. Former CEO #Changpeng Zhao advocated decentralization in headquarters issues, emphasizing the global nature of Binance's employees.
Following Zhao's departure, #Richard Teng, who previously oversaw Binance's regional markets, took over the CEO role. Despite his appointment in November 2023, Teng refrained from disclosing the location of the headquarters and its auditor.
During the Cryptocurrency and Digital Assets Summit in London, he evaded answering questions about the company's operations.
In December, Binance Holdings, the company behind the cryptocurrency exchange, created its first board of directors, which included Richard Teng and six others.
Co-founder Yi He hinted at the imminent formation of a headquarters and board of directors "as soon as the opportunity arises."
