Billionaire Elon Musk has predicted that artificial intelligence (AI) will surpass human capabilities by 2025. This statement was made in response to the views of futurist Ray Kurzweil and was presented in an interview with blogger Joe Rogan.
Musk disagreed with Kurzweil's prediction that AI would equal human intelligence by 2029, arguing that AI would vastly surpass humanity by then. Kurzweil faced public skepticism when he recalled his prediction that AI would prevail in 1999.

Kurzweil, known for his futurism, mentioned at a conference at Stanford University that AI could take 100 years to equal human intelligence. In contrast, Ian Lekun, vice president of #Meta, compared the current state of AI to the cognitive abilities of cats and dogs and questioned its ability to reach such heights in the next decade.
Musk launched xAI, a company specializing in AI-based products, in 2023 and raised $1 billion in equity capital. Meanwhile, the Vatican has noted that #AI is a serious threat to the future of humanity.
