The buyer of #NFT has not been disclosed at this time. The Ethereum wallet associated with the transaction was originally funded on March 20, 2024 through the well-known cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase.
The token's former owner expressed disappointment with the growth rate of Punk #7804 since its acquisition. Despite holding NFT for a long period of time, the expected price increase did not happen as expected. Nevertheless, the user managed to make a profit of 650 ETH ($2.3 million) from the deal, albeit after a year of searching for a suitable buyer.
In March 2024, the second NFT in the CryptoPunks collection was sold. In the previous deal this month, token #3100 was exchanged for 4,500 ETH, valued at about $16 million in the sale.
AlienPunk #7804 is now the second most valuable among all NFTs in the said collection, with token #5822 taking the top spot. The latter was sold in February 2022 for 8,000 ETH, which was worth $23.7 million at the time of the exchange.
In addition, the sale of AlienPunk #7804 secured the fifth place in the hierarchy of the most expensive NFT acquisitions in the history of the industry. Topping the list is Mike Winkleman's digital masterpiece Everydays: The First 5,000 Days, which went for $69.3 million in March 2021.
It should be noted that recently an unknown trader carelessly burned an NFT from the #CryptoPunks collection, as a result of which he lost 130 thousand dollars.
